Youth Fitness Center Orientation Procedures
The West Suburban YMCA is proud to announce the opening of its Youth Fitness Center. The center is specifically designed to meet the needs of our youth and teenagers ages 7-18.
Safety of our children and adults is our #1 priority. It is for this reason that we have placed the following Youth Fitness Center policies in place:
Orientations:
1. Members ages 7-14 must attend a mandatory orientation before utilizing the Youth Fitness Center.
- A parent or guardian must attend an orientation with members ages 7 – 11.
- Members ages 12 – 14 may attend the orientation without an adult.
2. Member ages 7 – 11 years old must have an adult present when working out in the Youth Fitness Center.
3. Member ages 12 – 13 may use the Youth Fitness Center without adult supervision. These members are restricted to the use of the strength equipment only. A Fit-Pass may be received from taking Y-Fit for Teens which will enable the youth to use the free weight equipment.
4. Members 14 - 18 are unrestricted in their use of the Youth Fitness Center.
5. Orientations will be conducted during the family hours (Please refer to Youth Fitness Center Schedule for dates and hours). Please call 617-244-6050 ext. 3026 to set up an appointment. Walk-in orientations will not be provided.
