Blossom with the West Suburban YMCA's

Spring Aquatics and Sports Programs

The West Suburban YMCA's spring aquatic and sports programs begin Saturday, March 29, 2008. Offered in a fun and supportive environment, children of all ages can engage in a variety of sports and activities.

Children can begin the spring season with YBA, the Y's basketball league. Students can learn basketball skill development, fair play, and positive competition through instruction and league games. As spring continues, children can also participate in flag football, the fastest growing sport in the United States. Students will learn the basics of catching, throwing, route running, and de-flagging in teams of five.

In the aquatics department, students can experience a great total body workout with the Y's own co-ed water polo club. Taught by former Division I water polo player, Nancy MacNeil this club focuses on skill development in dribbling, shooting, passing, offense, and defense through practice and games.

The Y also offers Super Sports and Adventure Programs during April School Vacation Week. Held from Tuesday, April 22nd through Friday, April 25th children from 6 to 12 years of age can participate in activities from swimming, sports, arts and crafts, and even guided field trips. Half day enrollment and Extended Day Care are also available.
