Miles Madness!
The West Suburban YMCA announces its first aquatic challenge, Miles Madness in an effort to encourage swimmers of all levels to experience a new type of workout in the Y's 25-yard, 6-lane pool. This program is open to members and non-members and will run throughout the spring season until Sunday, May 8, 2008.
Focused on individual competition and improvement, participants will be divided into five sections, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Aqua Jogger, and Youth. Each participant will work at his own level and will complete an aquatic workout based on lengths, laps, or miles in the pool depending on swimming experience. Fun incentives and prizes will be rewarded upon the completion of the program.
Through Miles Madness, participants will experience the many benefits of swimming which include a workout for the entire body, a way to improve cardiovascular conditioning, increased muscle strength, endurance, posture, and flexibility. This activity also serves as a cross-training element to other types of workouts.
Miles Madness is $25 for Members and $55 for Non-Members and can be completed at any time during lap swim.
