West Suburban YMCA Becomes Multi-Branched Facility

West Suburban YMCA Becomes a Multi-Branched YMCA

The West Suburban YMCA recently introduced a new Camping Services Branch to their facility located at 276 Church Street, Newton, MA. As a separate branch, Camping Services will oversee the YMCA's four camps. These coed camps include: the Y's resident camp, Camp Frank A. Day, located on 52 wooded acres in East Brookfield, MA; Camp Chickami, a fun-filled day camp in Wayland, MA; Camp Polliwog, the preschool, introductory camp located at the West Suburban YMCA and the Y's newest addition, Camp Pikati and Sports Camp located at the West Suburban YMCA in Newton, MA.

Under the direction of Ashley Dooley Wohlgemuth, Executive Director of Camping Services, this camping branch continues to incorporate the YMCA's mission in building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities into all of their programming.

As a result of this mission combined with the innovative programming, the West Suburban YMCA has been able to grow their camping services and provide more unique opportunities.

Wohlgemuth's extensive experience overseeing residential camps and children's programs most recently as the Executive Director of the YMCA of Greater Salt Lake, UT will be a tremendous asset as this new branch continues to expand.

For more information regarding these programs please contact the Camping Services Branch at 617-244-6050 ext. 3008 or email at campingservices@westsuburbanymca.org.
