Summer Sports Camps Continue at the Y
As part of its summer programming, the West Suburban YMCA will be providing a series of week long Summer Specialty Clinics beginning Monday, July 24 through Friday, July 28 including Basketball, Softball and Track and Field. All clinics will take place at the Y’s facilities, 276 Church Street, Newton Corner.
YMCA Basketball Clinic participants will learn the proper techniques of shooting, dribbling, rebounding and passing through daily skills sessions. Players will scrimmage each day as well as spend an hour in the pool each day. This clinic is for boys and girls ages 6 to 10 and will run from 9am to 4pm. Cost for YMCA members is $275 and $330 for non-members.
The YMCA Softball Clinic will teach participants ages 8 to 12 the proper technique of throwing, catching and hitting in a fun and positive environment. All players will partake in drills that reinforce proper technique and will play games each day. This clinic will be taught by coaches and former collegiate players and will run from 9am to 4pm. Cost for YMCA members is $275 and $330 for non-members.
The YMCA Track and Field Clinic will introduce participants ages 8 to 13 the basics of track and field through various running drills and age-appropriate group training activities. Learn proper warm up, cool down and stretching techniques and be introduced to field events. Daily swimming is included! Cost for YMCA members is $275 and $330 for non-members.
