The West Suburban YMCA Holds

15th Annual Angino Memorial Road Race and Family Field Day

The West Suburban YMCA held its 15th Annual Angino Memorial Road Race and Family Field Day on Sunday, April 13, 2008. One of the largest community events for the facility the 3-mile road race is held annually in loving memory of Ernest and Jerry Angino, longtime supporters of our YMCA.

With the help of over 300 runners, walkers, and participants, this year's race raised over $10,000 with proceeds supporting the renovation and expansion of the YMCA's new Youth Community Center and Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids, a private non-profit foundation which funds programs that provide medical assistance, medical research, education, community service, and advocacy for children's needs.

In addition to the road race, activities were held on the Y's New Balance Track & Field which included obstacle courses, potato sack races, 3-legged races, and a moonwalk. Participants were also treated to a visit from two Circus to Go! Clowns from the Big Apple Circus who provided giveaways for the kids.

Congratulations to the overall winners of the race-Benjamin Ndaya from Lowell, MA and Ashley Pickering from Waltham, MA. The West Suburban YMCA also extends its appreciation and thanks to the major sponsors of the race, Fran and Angelika Angino, Trillennium Services, Inc, and Ieraci Corp.
